Hot Stones are a very powerful massage tool, the stones give you the ability to penetrate deeper than is possible with a human hand, it is said one massage stroke with a stone is usually equivalent to five with the hand.

The therapy feels incredibly self-indulgent & restorative, using the heat from the warm stones to relax the muscles and calm the senses promoting a deepened state of relaxation, thus creating a sense of harmony.
The use of warm basalt stones delivers a truly therapeutic experience to the client typically promoting a relaxed & meditative state. The subtle energy of the basalt stones are both soothing and comforting alongside delivering their own healing properties.

Since basalt is formed from molten lava, and molten lava is rock that was heated so much it became liquid, there is a lot of strength, fire and power contained within basalt.

It is said that Basalt stone helps to bring stability, raise energy levels, and promotes courage, It is also said to be one of the most grounding stones available and can help connect you with the earth's energy. It is also thought to be helpful in releasing negative emotions and stress and promoting feelings of calm and peace.

Heated stones have been used as a therapeutic tool for massage for centuries with evidence dating back to, South America, China, Japan, ancient Egypt and Australia.

The stones work to ease tension and offers a truly relaxing massage experience. By promoting deep relaxation, this releases our positive hormones - endorphins, dopamine and serotonin, these are the bodies feel good hormones, by increasing relaxation this helps reduces the feelings of anxiety and nervousness also decreasing stress and tension, this in turn helps us to maintain an internal natural balance, helping us to function at our best.

Stress can play a big part in our lives, this is indeed a helpful natural response to have in certain situations, however being in the "fight or flight" response for prolonged periods of time can have a very negative effect on our health, therefore therapeutic relaxion plays an important part in our wellbeing.

This therapy is regarded as a complete mind, body, and soul treatment.

Most clients find they feel positive affects after one treatment, however it is definitely encouraged to have multiple treatments to reap the real possible benefits reflexology has to offer.
(this offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers)
Reflexology is a wonderful complimentary holistic therapy with many benefits. One of which is my personal favourite, the ability to induce deep relaxation. This helps us activate the parasympathetic state of our nervous system (psns) this is the stillness and calm we can sometimes lack in our day to day lives. This state helps to slow down our heart and breathing rate, lowers blood pressure & helps to promote digestion. For me it also feels like my feet are being planted back on the ground again, pressure or overwhelm can feel like you are coasting through rather than being present, which regrettably can happen from time to time.
Unbelievably (or believably) it is actually estimated that a very high percentage of diseases are caused by stress, so the more we practice deep relaxation the more established and deeper it becomes within us.
Relaxation breeds recovery therefore, the more time we spend in a PSNS state, generally the healthier we are.
How it works – it is said our feet are divided into zones (like meridians), within each zone we can access our systems of the body, our feet are like mini mirrors of our anatomy. Throughout a treatment all areas of the anatomy are worked upon through the feet, by exerting pressure on a reflex point will have a positive affect on the distant part of our body. We are sending good energy and circulation to areas of the body that need it.
One of the main goals is to bring the body back into its natural state of balance – the correct terminology is called Homeostasis.
Over time through various causes blockages can appear and settle within a zone/s, by releasing any possible blocked energy in the reflexes we are encouraging a better flow of energy and we stimulate the body's own healing process, which in turn helps our bodies to work most efficiently. When the body is out of balance it is not healing itself as efficiently.
Also the pressure applied during a Reflexology treatment will help boost the body's immune system, stimulate the circulation and generally improve the elimination of waste products from our body.
Reflexology is not a cure but a wonderful tool to offer support to our bodies systems, that may need extra attention and a helping hand.
It is also not a form of diagnosis, there could be a number of reasons why there is congestion within a reflex/zone and could have potentially developed there over an entire lifetime, reflexology will try and rid the blocked energy that the body had stored & held onto.
Reflexology is not to replace any medical interventions at all and is not an alternative to seeing your Doctor or taking medical advice.
Most clients find they feel positive affects after one treatment, however it is definitely encouraged to have multiple treatments to reap the real possible benefits reflexology has to offer.
